Friends of BCF

Friends of Bermuda Community Foundation (FBCF) was established by the Bermuda Foundation in 2014 to provide a facility for its American donors to be able to make IRS tax-deductible gifts to Bermuda and in turn to Bermuda Registered Charities. The Foundation later extended access to this facility to all US taxpayers interested in supporting other local nonprofits.

FBCF is a public charity (EIN #38-3938349) that is exempt from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to FBCF are deductible under section 170 of the Code. FBCF operates on a fee for service, cost-recovery basis. The fee schedule can be found here. The IRS Determination Letter can be found here.

FBCF accepts eligible charitable contributions from American donors and distributes them to unaffiliated charitable, nonprofit organisations registered on GiveBermuda.org. Individuals, families, businesses and other nonprofit organisations who have an interest in or connection to Bermuda may donate to FBCF to facilitate a recommendation of a grant to qualified nonprofit organisations in Bermuda, at the discretion of the FBCF Board of Directors. The FBCF facility is run as a community service at subsidised rates. Its most recent financial results are reported each year in its Form 990 Returns viewable using the IRS Tax Exempt Organisation Search Tool by referencing EIN # 38-3938349 (Hamilton HM 11 Bermuda).
